CANDOR’S ALANA LONG NAMED 2023 TOP WOMEN TO WATCH IN TRANSPORTATION
Plano, TX – March 20, 2023 – Major Industry Recognition Puts Spotlight on High-Achieving Women
Candor Expedite’s Alana Long is featured as one of Women In Trucking Association’s (WIT) annual Top Women to Watch in Transportation in 2023. The editorial staff of WIT’s Redefining the Road (WIT’s magazine), selects individuals based on their significant career accomplishments in the past 12 to 18 months, as well as their efforts to promote gender diversity. “Countless women in transportation are making significant strides in their careers while having a positive impact on their company’s success,” said Jennifer Hedrick, WIT president and CEO.
Alana joined Candor in May 2022 as head of Human Resources and Recruiting. This means she is working with, talking to, empowering and coaching all employees (female and male) within the organization. She is an advocate for diversity and invites more women into the company by seeking the best candidate for the role. She is also the voice of females within the organization to ensure that Candor is hiring, treating, reviewing and paying all employees within our agreement towards its core values – Determination, Collaboration, Integrity, Thrive, and Deliver.
Alana is no stranger to logistics having served as a hiring manager for Casual Driver Leasing Services for over four years. Here she helped the company grow their driver pool from 18 to 62 to expand the company’s revenue, profitability, and ability to offer more solutions to their dedicated customers. She took charge of the relationship between driver and customer to create a bond of trust and communication, allowing customer satisfaction and trust of the driver and the customer. Alana has a unique sales perspective having served as Area Sales Manager for Runway Seven; Store Manager at Steve Madden; Area Manager at Bakers Footwear Group; and Store Manager at Windsor Fashions.
According to Candor CEO Nicole Glenn, “Alana has stepped into a role to shine where she is best, with people. She is known as someone who takes our company culture seriously and comes to the table as an example to others. Many comments come to me directly from others that she is a “bad ass” taking charge of all things that make our company a better place to be. Alana takes no shortcuts; she takes initiative in all that she does. She is always promoting personal growth to others and putting herself in a multitude of learning programs from Predictive index trainings, Crucial conversation webinars, and networking with other HR professionals for continual improvement.“
“Being recognized by the top organization for female transportation leaders is such an honor for me,” said Alana Long. “I’m humbled to join the list of so many other amazing women who are trailblazers for other women. I am grateful because I truly love what I do, where I do it, and most importantly, who I do it with. Candor is a special place – we’re all on a journey to greatness together – making our customers the heroes,” she added.
