I joined Candor Expedite over a year ago as a Business Development Representative. Little did I know that it would be the beginning of an exciting career in transportation.

Candor is an amazing place to work, not just because Nicole Glenn is our CEO, but the culture is nurturing, high energy and challenging. It’s also a WBENC certified business. This means that we completed the rigorous and stringent certification process to confirm the business is owned, managed, and controlled by a woman. It is definitely something we are proud of, and I love telling others about it – especially since women make up less than 15% of the logistics workforce in the country.

Transportation may not be known for its diversity, but I love that I get to make a difference – as a proud Columbian woman, supported by a terrific and diverse team. Sure, you need to have a thick skin in this business, but I always know that Nicole has our back and wants me to reach my potential. I’ve learned that the best way to make a positive impact is to be a role model and pay it forward. Candor allows me the freedom to do this.

At Candor, the emphasis is on communication. Because we specialize in expedited deliveries, we’re often brought in when it’s a critical situation. Particularly now with so many holes in our supply chain, communicating delays and offering alternatives is super important to good client relations. I am often referred to as “the fixer” because our clients know we can handle shipments that have been deemed impossible – and frankly, that’s what makes this so interesting.
